Dating young women is a challenge for most guys, period! However, if you’re keen on dating women who are in their early to mid-20′s and you’re 7 to 10 years their senior, you’re faced with a few more relationship roadblocks than normal.
Don’t be alarmed, these aren’t insurmountable problems, but relationship issues you need to be aware of before you pursue a romantic affair with a younger woman. What are these points of concern, and how can you deal with them?
Let’s have a look at two of the more common issues.
#1 The Age Difference Debate!
While age difference in male/female relationships has always been a hot topic of interest in society, older men dating young women isn’t a modern phenomenon. In almost every culture throughout history, there has been a gap in the average age of coupling men and women. At present, in the United States, that gap is a mere 2 years, in many societies that gap can range from an average of 5 to 15 years!
Many men who are dating young women are conscious of the age difference and are sometimes insecure about being older. It’s only natural for this type of thinking. Solution? Don’t bring up the issue of age gap unless she does! Also, don’t make cracks about her youth, or about “cradle snatching”. And, above all, don’t refer to yourself as her “sugar daddy”!
You’re only asking for trouble if you start getting into these types of conversations. When you’re unfazed about the age difference, she will be too. Remember, both of you are in a relationship for the fun times, keep it light.
Points to ponder.
As an older male, you have several advantages over the young guys she is used to dating.
* You have more worldly experience.
* You’re interested in things beyond the latest video game release or who’s topping the music charts.
* You, more than likely, make more money and can take her to more upscale places.
* You’re also more sexually sophisticated and experienced. You’ll know how to satisfy her in bed and be more in tune with her needs and wants.
#2 What Does A Younger Woman Want In A Relationship With An Older Man?
Many people in society mistakenly stereotype young women who date older men as “gold diggers”, there’s no real love, they’re only after the guy’s money! But, in actual fact, this stigma applies to very few women indeed.
Many young women are just out to have a good time, they’re not looking for a serious relationship or marriage. If you happen to be attracted to a younger female, you need to play into this “good time image”. After all, that’s why you’re dating her, isn’t it?
Younger women are more whimsical, flirty, passionate and romantic than their older counterparts. They’re less ready to want to settle down and have kids…can I hear a collective sigh of relief from many older guys reading this far?
You’ll get a lot of mileage out of dating young women by having a youthful outlook. Being recklessly spontaneous, maintaining a high level of energy, and focusing on your emotional connections will go a long way to creating the type of romance you’re after.
However, a word of advice. You can’t be emotionally needy or clingy when dating a young woman. She doesn’t want this kind of intensity in a relationship. It’s a major turn-off for her, for anyone in fact, if you become overly demanding of her time and attention.
Finally, it’s a well-known fact that most men mature more slowly than women. This may be why so many young women look to date older men. They’re looking for someone in their same range of emotional development, which is something most ‘young guns’ can’t provide!
If you’re keen on dating young women, just realize that there will be challenges within the particular relationship, as well as possible roadblocks posed by society’s expectations and moral conditioning. However, on the flip-side of the coin, there are just as many advantages and bonuses in such romantic relationships for both a younger female and an older male.
